I personally would like to express how saddened I am by the closing of A CATERED AFFAIR on Broadway. I am proud to have been involved with the show since its out of town tryout in San Diego, and could not be happier to have seen it on to Broadway and the beautiful Walter Kerr Theater. The entire experience has been a joy and a huge learning experience for me. I will take the many tools and lessons I learned at A CATERED AFFAIR with me for the rest of my career. Thank you to those who saw and supported the show and made our run a successful one.

On that note, I am happy to announce that I will be starting a new project the day after "A Catered Affair" closes on Broadway. I will be playing the title character in ACE, a new piece at the Signature Theater in Arlinton VA. The cast includes Emily Skinner, Christiane Noll, Jim Stanek, Jill Paice, Florence Lacey, and Dalton Harrod. The show that has music by Richard Oberacker and book and lyrics by Robert Taylor and Oberacker, will be directed by Signature's artistic director Eric Schaeffer. Matt performed in another reading of CATCH ME IF YOU CAN. This round was different from the last reading he did in February and boasted the talents of Norbert Leo Butz in the lead role of FBI Agent Carl Hanratty.

Dear Family, Friends, and Jersey Boys Fans,

I am sad to say that I will be leaving JERSEY BOYS at the end of August. My last show will be Sunday the 26th. My time with this remarkable company has been life changing and a constant source of joy for me. However, the time has come for me to move on. I am very happy to tell you that I will be joining the company of A CATERED AFFAIR which is going to play the Old Globe in San Diego before arriving on Broadway next Spring. The cast includes Harvey Fierstein, Faith Prince, Tom Wopat, Leslie Kritzer, and Matt Cavenaugh to name a few. Harvey wrote the book and the music is by John Bucchino with direction by John Doyle (Sweeney Todd, Company). I attended a "Meet and Greet" earlier this morning and am getting very excited about this new chapter in my life. I want to thank all of you who have written the site with your wonderful comments and questions. I hope you will continue to do so even after I've left JERSEY BOYS. And keep an eye out for lots of new photos and updates about A CATERED AFFAIR. Thanks again,

Matt

While I was on for Tommy DeVito this past Wednesday, two Hollywood directors were in the audience. Both Rob Reiner and James L. Brooks took the time to greet the cast after the performance.

June 9, 2007

I will playing the role of Tommy DeVito this coming Tuesday evening, June 12th, and at both the matinee and evening performances on Wednesday June 13th.

I really appreciate the audience members who wait at the stage door after the show to meet the cast and share their thoughts about the performance. Many of you have been kind enough to write and send copies of the photos taken at the door. Keep them coming! We almost have enough to add a new page in the "Jersey Boys" galleries.

We're closing in on the year anniversay of the launch of the site! Thanks to everyone for your letters and emails and pictures. I really appreciate your support. You can email me: matt@matt-scott.com.
